single's mixer!

ok, remember that post way back about speed dating? apparently, they seemed to be geared for the "older crowd" of >27. i guess they assume we "young ones" shouldn't have trouble finding s.o.! or maybe it's just me, hehe. then again, i'm not quite looking--no time for that! but still, i have several single friends, and i figured it's time to meet new people and have some fun, so some friends and i have tentatively scheduled a "singles mixer"!! if it all turns out, we'll have it at a park so we can BBQ, play games, have no restrictions on # of ppl, more freedom to come and go, and not have to clean up! plus, none of us single ppl have apts to host anything! so i know most of you are happily together with another, but we could sure use your help in inviting "normal, sane, happy, friendly" singles, as well of thinking of fun things to do. somebody suggested a key/locket thing and you have to find the matching one. i'm thinking of hosting our own 3-min speed dating round as the ice-breaker. sounds kinda childish i know, but many of us are not the club/bar type of people. basically, i see this more as a just-having-fun-and-meeting-new people party. esp since i personally don't plan on hooking up 4000 miles away! maybe we'll just open it up to anyone, single or not! i'm kinda busy with school, so i hope the other ppl who thought of this will come thru with the planning! it'll make my spring break more fun! =)
