good weekend =)

so my new dorm friend, Laquesha, had to back out of going to a pot-sticker making Chinese New Year party 'cuz she was feeling ill. =( i almost decided not to go 'cuz i didn't want to go alone, but i got so fed up trying to do HW that made no sense that i just gave up and went by myself. and i'm really happy i did, 'cuz it was lotsa fun, food was good, and i met even more cool people from the med school and undergrad campus! =) only a few of us wrapped, and they bought already-made wrappers so it didn't take long. people all have different folding styles, so i learned 3 different folds! there wasn't a ton of food, so i only got in about 7 dumplings. it was funny 'cuz right next door was this "exclusive taiwanese party", and they were mean! one of the med school guys tried to go over to get their food (supposedly we were welcome), and they asked, "who are you? are you taiwanese?" he said, "my mom is from taiwan, and my dad is from china." and you know what these crazy ppl said?? "oh, well we're 100% taiwanese here," and then gave him a glare to go away!! geezers!! such animosity! so we avoided that side afterwards--they were 30-somethings anyway, fobbish, and no fun.

later today i'm gonna go to our dorm "superbowl" 8-foot-screen party with free pizza and yummies. =) then i'm gonna go to Bar (it's a pizza pub) for our last session with potential interviewees, where i can get more free pizza =). it's good 'cuz i forgot to stock up on food this weekend, and have been eating snacks and cereal. oh, i just found out there is a convenience store nearby that accepts the money on our ID card, and has lots more stuff than the cafeteria downstairs! it's just for Yale students! of course, the prices are all jacked up way high, but hey, beats losing $300 at the end of the semester! i hope to pay a visit there soon and see what i can stock up on...

gosh, this weekend has just been full of meeting new people! it's so great when workload is light and i can actually have a life! a semester delayed, but hey, better late than never! i did get a bit of hw done, but not enuf studying. oh well, i'll worry about it later!
