special annoucement!! =)

so work started again today, boohoo. i drove over 1h in the snow (6-8 inches) to my work, sat there for 30 min waiting for orientation, and sat some more as my attending physician isn't very "teaching-friendly". i ended up reading 3 magazines...bored bored bored. nearly all the patients are spanish-speaking like i expected, and although the attending physician is indian, he has become fluent in the 5 years he's been here. and he doesn't bother to translate anything for me to understand, so i just stand there and try to grab bits here and there from high school spanish. sigh! so today i borrowed a medical spanish book--hopefully i can get more out of my rotation this way!

on a much much happier note, i can annouce a new engagement!! katharine is *finally* gonna get married! =) yaya, he proposed on x-mas eve in taiwan. =) they are hoping to be wed soon in october, and i'll be graduated by then and hopefully back! CONGRATULATIONS kj!!!!

snowboarding again!

yaya, i went yet again! this time only for 4h and it was night-boarding from 6-10pm on new years day for only $19. special deal. but the "hill" we went to in CT (no mountains in CT) was tiny compared to Mt Sunapee...it basically sucked. icy (despite the 6-8" of snow overnight), ungroomed, and TONS of teenagers and kiddies zooming around us! can't wait til they go back to school. mike improved faster than radu 'cuz radu took a bad fall and was overly cautious after that...mike just zooms down more relaxed. so now mike can join me on the blues! yay!! =)

we're probably gonna take a break from boarding 'cuz it's getting costly, and concentrate on badminton as we have two HUGE tournies in the last two wknds of january: one in DC where i'll visit Joanne, and one in CT near the largest casino. =) then first wknd of february we'll try again to go to new hampshire on superbowl sunday when the crowds should be smaller. =) can't wait to go back to that luxurious cabin! and winter olympics is coming up--time to watch some snowboarding stunts!
